Electrically Powered Solutions
(Permanent Installation)
The Torqued Heatᵀᴹ Electrical Heating Platform was initially developed for separation activities on oil and gas production sites in response to new environmental regulations in Colorado related to site emissions of greenhouse gasses. The system pairs an electric motor with our novel control systems and proprietary Torqued Heatᵀᴹ pump, which is submersed in an environmentally friendly transfer fluid. The heat transfer fluid is circulated through a proprietary heat exchanger effectively transferring heat to the well fluids in the separator. Our systems achieve effective temperature bands allowing heat transfer exceeding 1,000,000 BTU/hr directly into crude oil and produced water in two and three-phase separators.
Benefits
Reduced Operating Costs: Electricity costs are 80% less than fuel costs for equivalent heating.
Efficiency: Continuous “Delta-T” monitoring scales back operating parameters when demand is less, saving enormous amounts of energy over most combustion-based heaters.
Reduced Maintenance: Torqued Heat electrical systems do not involve regulators, pilots, burners, fuel source issues, operator tampering, etc.
Environmental & Regulatory Benefits: The Torqued Heat electrical system generates zero emissions, requires no burner or boiler permits, inspections, or runtime reporting. Our system supports environmental goals for E&P companies, while meeting new environmental regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Environment
The U.S. energy sector is experiencing increased regulation related to greenhouse gas emissions from exploration and production activities. The Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (formerly the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission), for example, has enacted regulations prohibiting unnecessary or excessive venting or flaring from oil and gas wells. Permitting new wells has become a major challenge for operators in the DJ Basin; these same emission reduction measures are finding their way into other production areas of the country. In addition to state regs, federal regulations governing emissions are being enacted, which will impact producers all over the country.
